Live from the National Concert Hall, (recorded Dublin in August 2006), featuring 10 brilliant tracks, is a snapshot of Declan O'Rourke live with a band and a 12-piece string section in the earliest phase of his dynamic career just one year on from the release of his glorious debut, ‘Since Kyabram’.
This constitutes the only live record ever released of any O'Rourke concert to date. A collector's 'must have' with limited stock.
Although the concert was officially released as part of the Since Kyabram re-release of 2006, in the form of a bonus DVD film of the 2005 event, 'Declan O'Rourke, Live from the National Concert Hall', strictly speaking, this audio version of a selection of songs from the concert was an unauthorized product, made by the former record label, post contract, through the exploitation of a loophole that circumvented any need for the artist's permission.
Around 2017 as that former label folded however, O'Rourke had the opportunity to regain the rights for Since Kyabram and at that point, this title along with some limited stock of its disc also were also handed over to the artist, by way of a good will gesture on the labels part. Around that time, a friend of team DOR pointed out that two of the tracks from 'Live from the National Concert Hall' record were currently the most listened to tracks on spotify, and given that the DVD version was no longer in print to boot, it made sense to make the disc available to fans here, a rare 'authorized yet un-authorized' title!
